Hey y’all! This was a build I completed in 3 years ago in high school that I finally got around to take pictures of recently! I had some spare parts from my 02 LMHG kit that I customized (not that proud of that one haha), and I wanted to make the a petit-guy for fun with a Unit 01 spin.

The fundamental construction remained essentially the same, but I added the ankle-foot guard things, the entry plug, and the umbilical cable from the LMHG kit. I scratch-built the horn on the head with some pen cartridge parts. Most of the work was focused on the torso. I filled in the existing gaps on the breast/abdominal plate with super glue. I then scribed in lines to replicate the Eva-esque armor plating. I drilled some holes and placed pinheads to add more detail.

I scratch-built the base on a plastic plate. This was actually the first time I’ve ever done this technique before (but now you can see on my modern builds that I practically only use this :p). I got the inspiration from an EA Gunpla build.

Painting was once again Rustoleum x2 and handpainting. I some 1/100 scale figures, so I painted one of them to look like Shinji lol. I painted everything in a gloss paint, and then I used a contrast technique I learned from GameraBaenre to create the stripes. It didn’t work out as well as I wanted to, but hey, it was decent for a 15 year old. Decals were left-over waterslides.
