This build was part of an online competition for the month of July hosted by Miniaturite with the theme of Zaku vs 30mm.
My thematic inspiration behind this piece was that of the Atlan mechs from Doom Eternal, informing a green/brown color scheme with accents of blue, while also making references to that of the Doom Slayer himself.
My primary goals for this as a builder were to try to push myself in technical areas of kit modifications via scratch building.
Heavy use was made of pla plate to enhance sections of the build such as adding bulk to the torso and shield, adding more surface details, or expanding the shape of a component like the twin machine guns on the arm or the profile of the foot.
Additional details were provided through use of beads and bass string for power pipes, providing a much more mechanical look than that of the stock pieces.
The super shotgun and heat hawk were scratch builds, making use of original kit pieces as the basis for building upon.
