I finally mustered the courage to start building this beast, and here are the results. I did a candy painted Sazabi last year, and now I wanted to try if I can get the clear version done in a way that I would like it to appear. Bandai really did a solid job in engineering this kit, everything snaps real well, and the parts are all perfectly fit.

I only wanted to paint the inner frame, and leave all the clear parts as is. Took a while to sand all the nubs from the clear parts, but after that, painting was fast. I used Vallajo Surface Primer Gloss Black for all the inner frame parts, and then added the colors. Paints used below:

Then I just applied all the waterslides that came with the kit. And no topcoat was applied to finish so it wouldn’t dull the clear parts. I really like this kit, and a lot of other mechanical clear kits. I will be doing more of them next year. Hope you like it!
