PBandai Master Grade Astray Red Dragon Commission build completed. No modifications done, just simple repaint work. The dark grey and red parts were made into metallic colors. Black and white parts were just flat white or flat black. Enhanced the gold with candy gold clear paint, and the red was also clear red over fine silver metallic.

The MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Dragon is a variant of the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame appearing in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Astray R photonovel. It is operated by Junk Guild member Lowe Guele.

Got the parts pre cut, since it was already a built kit by the customer. Just needed to do cleanup of some nub marks left, and sanding on the parts. It’s my first time building a master grade Astray variant, as I only own the HiRM ARF. The leg and arm construction was really intricate for this kit. Very detailed, and articulation is really good. What I didn’t like was the loose thumb on the fingers, the connection peg on the hands were also loose, along with the gerbera straight scabbard connector to the side skirt on the waist. The flight pack also has loose connectors on the upper small wings, and the massive v-fin is also very loose. Overall it was an interesting build, but I’m still not a fan of Astrays. Posing this is a real challenge as he just can’t hold onto those weapons, more so the Caletvwlch.
