00 Noir

BUILD PROCESS:

I wanted to change the colors for 00 Gundam 7 Swords, and was thinking of using Raiden from Metal Gear, as my inspiration. I don’t see many custom painted 7 Sword builds, so I wanted to make something really appealing, and 00 fans would also just say “wow” to, and appreciate.

Here’s a picture of Raiden for reference, although I wasn’t able to fully adapt what his overall look was in my build due to proportion and accessories differences.

THE BUILD:

I usually start with the weapons, backpack, and accessories to get the tedious stuff out of the way first.

For this build, I got lazy halfway through, so I just cut out every runner per color, and cleaned up the nubs before any assembly was done. I only built the inner frame for the kit, as bootleg kits tend to have tight pegs which may prove difficult to remove afterwards.

PAINTING:

I don’t know how to scribe, or kitbash yet, but I have been painting kits for over a year now, so I sorted the parts by colors that I would paint. I didn’t plan on doing any masking for this. Since I’m using metallic paints, I would just spray and spray the whole parts.

I used Vallejo Gloss Black, and Grey Surface Primers. And for the colors, I used Zurc Scale Model Acrylic Paints. Colors used were Gloss Black, Bluish Grey Metallic, Charcoal Black Metallic, and Hyper Silver. My top coat was Crystal Gloss Clear, also Zurc.

DECALS:

I like applying decals, so I bought some 3rd party waterslides for the metalbuild 00 Gundam 7 Swords. The kit doesn’t come with decals, or a guide, so I had to improvise and check pics from google. I applied some decals based on what I thought looked nice too. The decals weren’t numbered, and no guides were available for me.
