HG PFF-X7/J5 Jupitive GundamIntroducing the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam.
The Jupitive [Callisto] is an upgraded version of the original Jupitive Gundam. This upgraded version of the Jupitive was designed to add more firepower to the original Jupitive’s arsenal with a heavenly emphasis on beam based weaponry. As such, the armaments of the AGE-2 Double Bullet were used in its design.
Just like the original Jupitive, the Jupitive [Callisto] is separated into two distinct units, the Callisto Core Gundam and the Jupitive Callisto PLANETS System.
The Callisto Core Gundam is comprised of parts from the MKI Core Gundam and the MKII Core Gundam to which it needed its own designation. As such, the Callisto Core Gundam is currently the only known unit to be designated as the Shatter Core Gundam.
The Jupitive Callisto PLANETS System is not drastically as changed as the Callisto Core Gundam, however it has indeed modified in order to handle space combat in a more efficient manner.
In terms of armaments. The Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam is equipped with the following:
-
The standard Core Spray gun. The Core Spray gun can be extended into the Beam Gatling gun in order to fire either a quick succession of beams or as a single powerful beam.
-
A set of twin DODS rifles have been added to the Callisto Core Gundam’s arsenal. These are its primary weapons and can be combined with the white shoulder binders to make the twin DODS cannons.
-
The large shoulder binders on the shoulder segments of the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam are capable of firing beams due to the modified large beam sabers contained within them. However, these cannot be used when the binders and the twin DODS rifles are combined in the twin DODS cannon formation.
-
The two beam sabers that were present on the original Core Gundam are still present for the Callisto Core Gundam. The beams can either be short or long depending one whether the Callisto Core Gundam is Equipped with the Jupitive Callisto PLANETS System or not.
-
The Multi Container Bit can be used to provide additional thrust to the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam and just the Callisto Core Gundam itself. It can also be separated and attached to the a forearms of the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam in order to fire beam blades or to prove I beam shield.
-
The dual Manifer bits of the original Jupitive Gundam are present on the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam as well. These are attached to the fora Segments of the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam to provide additional fire power. They can also be attached the the should sections of the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam to act as turrets, but it is rarely configured in that way as the Shoulder Binders are mounted on said shoulder sections.

Trivia
- The “Callisto” portion of the Jupitive [Callisto ] Gundam is a reference to Callisto, which is one of the natural satellites orbiting the planet Jupiter.
The Jupitive [Callisto] was later updated into the Jupitive [Callisto Revive]. While the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam was a upgraded version of the original Jupitive Gundam that was designed to increase the firepower of beam based weaponry, it was outmatched in combat against another mobile suit with similar tactics. As such, the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam was revised to include even more beam based weaponry with the Freedom Gundam being used as inspiration.
The revisions made to the Core Gundam and the Mulit Container bit were brief, the main focus was to modify the Jupitive Callisto PLANETS System. Only one modification was made to the PLANET System, but the single modification provided the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam with a new weapon to its arsenal. As a result, the Jupitive [Callisto Revive] was made.
- The MMI-M15 “Xiphias” railguns, which are newly designed as the Callisto’s Additional Railgun Mounted Equipment (or the C.A.R.M.E Cannons) are, as the name implies, are railguns from the Freedom Gundam mounted on the side skirts of the Jupitive [Callisto] Gundam. The Freedom Gundam’s Beam Sabers were then converted into sights for the newly adopted weaponry.
Trivia
- While the project upgrades were in development, it was designed as “Opperation: Beam Spam”
- The abbreviation of the Callisto’s Additional Railgun Mounted Equipment is a reference to Carme, another natural satellite orbiting the planet Jupiter.
- There we’re talks about giving the Jupitive [Callisto Revive] Gundam the Meteor Unit or the back unit of either the Amazing Strike Freedom Gundam or the Freedom Gundam. However, the idea of adding either back unit was rejected as the back units would limit the Mobile suits operation time due to them requiring more power. The Meteor Unit was also rejected as it was seen as “too large” and “a bit excessive”.
