This kit was the first kit I ever decided to enter into a competition. Since the competition was during the month of October, I wanted to go with a Halloween based color scheme. The base kit is the MG Red Frame Kai. I took the head and the back skirt from the MG Turn Red Astray(mainly because I lost the original V fin for the base kit but hey it all worked out). I also broke the V-fin of the Turn Red but decided it looked cool, which is why it’s asymmetrical.
This was my second time candying coating a kit like this. I used Mr. Hobby Shine Silver for the metallic look and then airbrushed Clear Orange and Purple on their respective parts. The outer armor I painted with Mr. Hobby Metallic Black. This was a last minute decision but I decided to gradient the back skirt, the v-fin and the shoulder armor.
I decided not to include the Tactical arms due to time constraints, but overall, this was a very fun kit to build and customize. I ended up getting 3rd out of 7 contestants which isn’t too bad for a first time entering~
