Here’s my custom painted Jagd Doga.
For this one, I wanted to paint the kit top to bottom and go all out. It turned out well! I went with Mr Color Metallic Green and Mr Color GX Rough Gold for the main colour scheme. I also used Tamiya Sparkling Silver for the hose details. Then, I did many layers of gloss to make the metallic paint pop. For the inner frame, I painted it Tamiya Gunmetal, then panel lined and flat coated. I also used Tamiya Light Gunmetal here and there to add colour separation. I decided to match the Bandai colour scheme fairly close since I really like the bare colours, I just wanted to enhance them a bit. I was hoping for the green to look a bit more blue but I’m still happy with the result.
For the details, I panel lined with Tamiya liner, hand painted the smaller details, used G-Rework waterslides, and masked some parts and repainted to add some colour separation. For the hand painted details, I used Army Painter Fanatics gold, silver, and copper.
The overall build was really good! Like most older kits, there are a lot of polycaps but I usually put a coat of paint on them while I’m painting everything else so they stiffened up. Some of the nub marks were a bit difficult to make indivisible but still doable. Again, like older HGs, the surface detail is pretty simple but with a bit of extra work, it still looks really good.
Thanks for checking out my build!
