MG Sandrock Custom EW painted build is complete. Like all the other wing kits this was an easy and simple build. There are a few seam lines on this kit that need to be taken care of. Mainly on the heat shotels and beam machine guns. Colors are all mixed from the manual except for the gold. As a fan of the old 1/100 HG EW kits, I use gold on my Wing kits instead of the yellow.
Accessories - This version of Sandrock does not come with the “heated blades” so I bought an extra weapon set online to be able to display both versions of the weapons.
Posing was a little limited because of the design of the kit but overall, it was not too bad. Hips are limited because it does not have the drop down design of the SEED kits. The big shoulder pads also affect the articulation of the arms.
The anti-beam cloak is something that I really wanted to focus on. The plastic shells that make the cloak don’t really look like cloth so I tried to shade them in a way to give them that effect. I think they turned out ok and I really like how the kit looks with the cloak on. It does turn the kit into a brick and you run into some potential scratching of the shoulders.
