Zn-002 Gundam Lodis Z1

My Thoughts on this Build

For this build I incorporated magnets to attach the armor which took a lot of planning as well as trial and error to find the right amount to use to attache parts without them falling off. Once I knew how many were needed I need to support the armor I had to figure out where to place them to get the parts to stay in place. All of the magnets are hidden from view and are under the armor or covered using polystyrene pieces. You can see the full WIP on this twitter thread: Link

This design was inspired heavily by Gundam Nadleeh for the 2 forms it has. For this kitbash I used parts from the following kits, MG 1/100 00 Quan[T], MG 1/100 Exia, HG 1/72 Kyuokai Senki Brady Hound, HG 1/72 Kyuokai Senki Amaim Ghost, some Hexa Gear expansion sets and various other parts I have from other builds I have done.

Zn-002 Gundam Lodis Z1 is Piloted by an American, June Marqueson, who works for ZODIAC. It is a heavily modified version of Leviathan Works’ LWN-002 Gundam Odyssey. The original Gundam did not have a detachable armor feature as this was developed by June with the help of ZODIAC engineers. This featured was dubbed Cloak in-house during development and later would be called Eclipse.

Lodis is outfitted with a variety of weapons while in Eclipse Mode. The first weapon that was developed is the Ln-70-Lens. and is one of 2 weapons that can be used when not in Eclipse Mode. The Blade is made out of Lunatite and coated with Silvarium which prevents high heat damage from Beam based weapons to the blade. The shield it is mounted on is a composite of Gundanium and Lunatite. While the shield cannot block most high heat energy sources it is can defend against most low heat sources such as Beam Saber and Small Beam weapons such as a rifles and pistols. The second weapon that can be used out of Eclipse Mode, Ln-X1-Nail which is an arm mounted unit that emits a beam blade. It generally is only deployed when the the Ln-70-Lens cannot be deployed. It it has 2 modes, a high energy output and low energy output. The default being the low setting which can be used to obscure the striking distance as the modes can be changed at any time.

The last weapon, Ln-110-Lance cannot be used unless it is in Eclipse mode. It is a charged particle cannon that features acts as a secondary source of energy for the entire Gundam. This allows the Lodis to operate in Eclipse Mode for up to 56 hours without needing to replenish with it’s fuel. The Ln-110-Lance is capable of extending it’s operation time by using the charging function to store energy. This process is not optimal as for every hour spent charging recovers an hour and 30 minutes of operation time while in Eclipse Mode.

Gundam Lodis does not feature an special Operating systems as the original Gundam Odyssey featured a competent OS called L.O.R.E, Layered Operation Relay Environment. The system is designed to make use of satellites as well as the sensors on the Gundam to provide a 360 view of the battle field within a 24 Mile radius. This allows the pilot to respond to any situation while minimizing the risk to the Pilot and Gundam. It features a modified Leviathan Drive, LWN-A1-006 Atlas MkII, this drive features to modes of output to help support the Lodis whether it is in Eclipse Mode or not..

Zn-002 Gundam Lodis Z1 Is considered to be a ground unit as the Eclipse mode lowers flight speeds from 210mph / 337.96km/h to 114mph / 183.47km/h and has maximum flight height of 5mi / 8.05km to 0.75mi / 1.21km. Even while not in Eclipse Mode it does not have the features that would allow it to make quick aerial maneuvers. Due to the high energy draw of Eclipse Mode the Lodise will make use of the satellite system that L.O.R.E is connected to Phase Locate the Armor to it when it has reached its destination.
