YAMS-134 Neue Zulu

The concept was a Sleeves officer’s custom suit, made using data from the Rozen Zulu’s design, but with visual cues and equipment based on the Neue Ziel, because the pilot idolises Anavel Gato. Quasi-Psycommu controls both sets of wire-guided claws, and the sub-arms. As a side note, it doesn’t have the Rozen Zulu’s Hamma-Hamma-style shield because it’s got i-field generators in each of the shoulder pauldrons.

Base kits:

  • HGUC 1/144 Rozen Zulu
  • HG Mechanics 1/550 Neue Ziel
  • SD Neue Ziel

Mod details:

  • Head customised from SD Neue Ziel head with Bandai command antennae, movable mono-eye made from Koto joint part, front of head carved out to display it.
  • Upper torso customised to combine SD Neue Ziel torso parts with HG Rozen Zulu Torso, new neck articulation added.
  • Lower torso heavily modified for metal spring cable and SD Neue Ziel front cannon with epoxy putty and styrene sheet, new Hobby Base ball joint added to take the added weight of the new backpack and shoulders, styrene tube collar used to hide joint.
  • HG Mechanics Neue Ziel rear skirt added on hinged joint.
  • HG Mechanics Neue Ziel long propellant tank/thruster binder attached to backpack on hinged arm, sub-arm mounts built for HG Mechanics Neue Ziel arms to attach to.
  • Funnel/Thruster pods modified with putty.
  • Neue Ziel Shoulders modified to fit onto Rozen Zulu mounts.
  • Sub-arms fully articulated with styrene tubes and Kotobukiya joints, modified to take MG sized beam saber blades Spikes on arms removed, gaps filled & smoothed over with epoxy putty.
  • New thrusters added to legs, and armour plate bulked out with styrene sheet to match outline of original leg.
  • The right leg’s lower knee section is also recast in epoxy putty with a polycap rod following a break, but that was something I’d rather not have had to do… Every single round thruster and vernier has a metal insert, either an Adlers Nest part, metal bead or an IC pin, sometimes a combination!
  • Finally, all seams either filled or scribed into panel line detail.
