I had a ton of fun and learned so much working on this build, which is sorta wild for me since this kit almost ended up getting scrapped for parts. Originally, I didn’t plan to do much with it beyond some detail painting, but when some Tamiya Extra Thin got into some of the joints in the right arm freezing it along some leg armor getting glued backwards making it so it wouldn’t fit; don’t build when you’re super tired and have headache, I had a bit of mess to deal with. Especially with a replacement kit coming at around $60 and I couldn’t find any used kits or replacement parts.
So after hemming and hawing over the kit and some encouragement/advice from my wife I decided to just go all in with this kit. I wanted to play with some techniques and skills I’ve read about before but never got the chance to put into practice. Things like Priming by hand with a brush, Chipping, Battle Damage, Customizing, and Basing. Some of these ended up working out better than others, but in the end I love how this kit came out and I’m really looking forward to putting what I’ve learned to use going forward!
